The Australian Association of Bush Adventure Therapy (AABAT) welcomes practitioners, program managers, allied professionals and all others with an interest in nature and adventure experiences as a complementary therapeutic approach to foster wellbeing, insight and positive change. We invite you to come together, and meet with us at a welcomefire at the Far South Wilderness Camp, Dover lutruwita / Tasmania on 1 May 2020.

Set on the edge of the SW Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area – home to Aboriginal people, knowledge and tradition for at least the past 35,000 years, and for 20,000 years, the southernmost people on Earth –  Far South offers a natural and tranquil setting for the exploration of the Forum theme Healthy Country, Healthy People

A special focus of this Forum is to provide  opportunities to develop broader and deeper appreciation of the insights, knowledge and nature-based wisdoms of members of the Tasmanian Aboriginal people. With support and input from local cultural elders, we will be invited to consider contemporary BAT practices through the lens of representatives of the oldest continuous culture on the planet. Opportunities for forum participants to explore their own practices and contexts within this space will follow…

The programming and planning are well underway with details for registration and expressions of interest to offer/facilitate a session within the program to follow shortly…
